Small, simple tattoos can usually be done as walk-ins and depending on availability they can be done the same day!

If you want to book an appointment for a tattoo and have something already drawn up that’s ready or nearly ready to be tattooed then simply come in to the studio so we can talk to you about your design, figure out the size and placement, and then book the tattoo appointment for you, you’ll receive an exact quoted price when you book in for small tattoos, larger ones are charged by the hour and each artist has a different rate based on their experience and styles, all this will be outlined and made clear when you come see us

 If you have an idea that needs to be drawn up, then the best thing to do is book a consultation with the right artist for your style of tattoo. Firstly, check out the work of the artists under the “Artists” section, and see who’s work most resembles the style you’re looking for. You can then use the “Request a Consult” form on the right to arrange a time to come and meet them. Consultations are a free-of-charge half hour  commitment-free planning appointment to figure out all the details of the design and whether you want to go ahead and get tattooed, there is no obligation or hard sell, we love to meet and talk tattoos with the public. If you decide you want to book in for a tattoo appointment with your artists of choice you will have to leave a cash deposit to secure the booking and have the artist draw your design for you. We never charge for custom drawings, it’s all included in the final price of the tattoo, no hidden costs.

Drawings are prepared and completed for the day of the tattoo appointment by the artist usually the night before. They all have pretty demanding drawing and working schedules so unless pre-arranged drawings are not usually shown until the day of the starting appointment. If you specifically discuss with your artist to see the drawing before the appointment day you can book a second viewing consultation to see it at no hassle at all, not all of our artists offer this service mind you. It is the normal policy of the shop that artists don’t email their tattoo designs from the studio to clients, it’s much easier to discuss changes, if necessary, in person during a second consult or the day of the tattoo, small changes are easy done. It is important to be clear and sure about what you want to get tattooed before leaving a deposit because if you happen to change your mind and an entirely new drawing has to be done because your artist has already started drawing your original idea you may lose your deposit and we certainly don’t want that. We are happy to consult with you as long as it takes and over multiple visits and work on your design together until we find exactly what you are looking for, sometimes a second or even third consult is necessary to finalise the design and this is all good and consults are always free of charge, as are drawings.

Booking Procedure

You’ll receive an exact quoted price when you book in for small tattoos, larger ones are charged by the hour and each artist has a different rate based on their experience and styles.

All tattoo appointments need to be secured with a cash deposit, the amount depends on the size and the time required for your booking. This is not refundable for any reason and as we set aside this time for you and your booking, so please be sure when you book in. The deposit amount comes off the final price of the tattoo.

Walk-ins

We do walk-in tattoos 5 days a week when time permits. We are open Tuesday to Saturday from 11am until 7pm and have up to 8 artists working every day so if we can’t get you in right there and then the wait shouldn’t be too long for your tattoo, either the same day or soon after.

  • We are a very busy studio, we do all types of tattooing, custom and pre-drawn designs. If you come in for a walk-in and we are free we can usually get you in right then and there, if however we are a booked up for a couple hours but have space later in the day then we can book you in for our next available time opening. Keep in mind this isn’t LA Ink and our artists are always drawing or working.. if your design needs some time to prepare or your preferred artist is working on another client please be patient with us and we’ll do our best to take care of you as soon as we can.

  • We can normally do small to medium tattoos on the spot and if time permits we can draw some larger stuff and tattoo same day. Sleeves and larger multiple sitting tattoos etc will first need a consultation and then a booking for another day will need to be made so the artist has time to draw the design. If you walk in and we have an available time an artist will consult with you and work out your next large tattoo!

    It is recommended to ring the shop or email us to pre-arrange consults so you don’t have to take any chances!

Please Note

  • If you want to make the tattoo appointment and lock it in, you will have to send us a deposit. For bookings with a long lead time this can be done through an international bank transfer or within Australia a simply EFT. For last minute appointments, we can accept immediate Paypal payments. Please note, all extra fees and charges that may apply to either method of payment will be covered by yourself.

  • Deposits are not refundable under any circumstances. The deposit amount comes off the final price of the tattoo, there is no charge for the drawing or any hidden bookings fees.
    You will only see the final drawing on the day of the tattoo appointment with this type of booking so please be sure, if you want something customised, please be very clear and specific about what you want!

Our Rates & Schedule

At Authentink Studio we pride ourselves on impeccable service, outstanding hospital grade sterilisation and cleanliness, top tier artwork, skills and client satisfaction and fair pricing.

Minimum Charge

Our minimum shop price is $100. This covers set up costs for equipment such as needles, inks and tubes, all disposables and hygiene supplies for cleanliness and infection control like chair and table barriers, fresh towels, spray bottle and cable covers etc, shop assistant co-operation, tax (GST and company) and then artist compensation. It may seem like $100 is a lot of money for a small 5-10 minute tattoo but we put a lot of effort in ensuring your safety, experience and satisfaction is the same with us whether you get a tiny love heart on your wrist or a giant dragon backpiece.

Artist Rates

At Authentink Studio each artist charges a different hourly rate based on their years of experience, their abilities, their speed of tattooing, their style specialty and the demand for their work. Like an iceberg where only the top 10% of it is visible above the surface of the water and 90% remains unseen, so is the same with the amount of preparation our artists put into their craft. The hours spent in the studio tattooing are vastly outnumbered by the hours spent at home creating your custom drawings, researching designs and reference material, buying the latest books and art supplies, trying new and innovative tattoo equipment, all at their own expense. Every single artist at Authentink Studio is a dedicated and highly trained individual that is constantly improving their skills and studying their craft.

The majority of our artists fall into price schedule A, this is our shop base rate.

Booking Terms & Conditions

  • Once you are booked in with a deposit for your tattoo appointment we ask that you try your hardest to stick to the schedule that was agreed upon. We are a very busy studio and all our artists are highly sought after. Therefore, if you reschedule your appointment or cancel without at least 1 weeks notice your deposit is taxed $100, if you reschedule or cancel within 72 hours of your appointment, your entire deposit is forfeited. If you miss your appointment without notice your deposit is forfeited and you may need to leave a double amount deposit for your next appointment.

  • In the event you have left a deposit and made a Full Day Booking (6 or more hours) with one of our artists you must give 7 days notice to cancel or change the date or you will forfeit your deposit. It is quite difficult to fill full days on short notice and since our artists are on tight schedules its not good for them to miss a day of work unnecessarily.
    We pride ourselves on always being professional, being on time, being prepared and not making clients wait or be inconvenienced unnecessarily. We please ask the same in return and you’ll get a great tattoo and a great experience from us!
