When it comes to anything floral, ornamental, and delicate, the first artist that always springs to mind for us at the studio is Lily. Lily specialises in fineline flora and fauna and ornamental tattoos, often combining the two to create beautiful works of art. Each tattoo is unique to the client; the first step is consulting with Lily to pin down the most important elements and symbols. Next, a design is drawn with a clear idea of the client’s individual physique in mind, then lastly it’s stencilled piece by piece to give the impression of jewellery curving along the skin.
Lily’s fond of playing around with different line weights and patterns, and often incorporates well-known symbols, like the lotus flower, into her work. In doing so, it’s easy to understand why her clients frequently report that their tattoos make them feel more confident and in-touch with their femininity.
Below, we’ve compiled a few examples of Lily’s ornamental tattoos, and after that a number of currently available flash designs created by Lily. Have a peek!
We’ve only included one here, but Lily has a number of half-body and full-body design concepts on her instagram profile (@tiwaline.tattoo), for anyone curious and wanting to see more. While the designs demonstrated were drawn onto a model, it’s easy enough to play around with placement in the consultation stage. For instance, the beautiful chrysanthemums across the chest and tips of the shoulders could be moved to the lower back, or on the bottom. The possibilities are endless!
The top two designs below were created with the intention of circling around the nipple, creating an elegant frame made up of swirling and dotted elements. An uncommon and eye-catching placement, perfect for anyone wanting to draw attention to while not overshadowing the natural curves of the body.
That’s all we have for today! Once again, there’s plenty more flash on Lily’s instagram account (@tiwaline.tattoo) to be viewed.
