After years of tirelessly chipping away at Karstan’s backpiece, Horisumi can finally add this project to his impressive portfolio of completed works. It took no little amount of blood, sweat and tears to complete Karstan’s backpiece, featuring a fierce green dragon in the jaws of a deep red, yellow-green eyed hanya. This was done all freehand, with tebori colouring and shading and machine linework.
While this is the end of one project, it’s only the first step in what’s certain to be an unforgettable bodysuit. Karsten will be back in the studio in the next few months to get started on his first sleeve.
