Ever since I could hold a pencil, I’ve known that I would end up taking a career in art. Born and raised in Sydney, Australia, I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember, striving to create beautiful and unique pieces that actually mean something.
I was constantly tossing up different career options, even taking on a short-term chef apprenticeship, but at thirteen years old, I knew what I wanted to do. For three years before I graduated high school, I took to learning as much about tattooing as possible, beginning to create a portfolio that would later get me my apprenticeship. I found it an incredible career not only because of the opportunity to make art, but the opportunity to make connections with the people that my art would go onto. It was a captivating concept, to enjoy someone’s art so much that you’d carry it with you on your body for the rest of your life.
At seventeen, after graduating high school, I immediately took to finishing my portfolio, and trying to find an apprenticeship. Somehow, Horisumi was looking for a new apprentice at that exact time. The beginning of the apprenticeship was hard, but rewarding, and led me to where I am now. Surrounded by Japanese tattooing, my art style has developed significantly since beginning and Authentink Studio, and continues to develop every day as I observe the other artists around me
I am completely dedicated to creating and tattooing unique pieces. Although I’m still in the early stages of my tattoo apprenticeship with Horisumi, I’m confident that I can give you a tattoo that will be treasured for the decades to come!
