In July, we had an incredible array of clients and projects that came into the studio. Scroll down to see our favourite ongoing, completed, and one-shot pieces from this month, along with some action shots!
If you keep up with our blog posts, you may already know that Karsten’s hanya and snake back pieces has finally been completed after several long years. All freehand, machine linework and tebori shading by Horisumi.
There have been quite a few outline sessions for Horisumi this month. The above is for Richy, the start of his first sleeve for his bodysuit.
Brandon’s black and grey hanya and tiger arm sleeve (and first tattoo!) with red highlights is finally finished after hours of hard work. Kudos to Brandon for taking it like a champ! Stay tuned for a dedicated post following their progress over the last few months.
Whew, look at those scales!
Monique’s tattoo is complete for now, but she’ll be back in the studio soon. A second snake curling around the arm will finish off this otherwise abstract and asymmetrical piece.
James doesn’t often use pink in his tattoos, which is why we took a few quick pictures! Love how the shades blend into one another.
Unfortunately we didn’t capture the moment Pepper finished tattooing, but not all hope was lost. Thanks to these cool American tourists who spent some of their holiday in our studio!
This tattoo takes from the song ‘Snow Blind’ by Black Sabbath, in honour of Ozzy Osbourne.
Lily’s tattoos are always lovely to get close up shots of–there’s always an abundance of small details that sometimes get overlooked when taking in the full picture.
If you keep up with our blog, you may have already seen these two tattoos from our previous post. Since Steve sat so well for all of his tattoos, we just had to bring them up again.
Forgive the dim lighting in this image–we didn’t have the chance to take more, but luckily all of the details are still visible. In person, the colours pop magnificently. This tattoo is a reference to AC/DC, and is in honour of a close friend of the client who passed away. We’re very honoured to have had the trust to do this tattoo.
As always, Max’s attention to detail is unmatched. His clients always come with the most interesting concepts, and Max delivers each time. The below especially fits the bill on that description.
Rishab’s tattoo was started early last year, but scheduling conflicts have pushed back his appointment month by month. Yayoi has finally had the chance to finish it up, and boy are we glad to see it!
And that’s a wrap for this month! Though we’re in the middle of the dead season, we’ve been lucky enough to keep working on projects that we love. These are only a small fraction of the tattoos our talented artists have done this month, and we’re so pleased that we get to share them. If you’re curious about a specific artist, check out their profile on our website or visit their instagram–there you can find regular updates, day to day happenings, and throwbacks to old but iconic works.
If you’re interested in starting the process of getting your own custom tattoo, don’t hesitate to reach out over the phone or submit a booking inquiry form through our website. We can’t wait to hear what you have in mind!
