Max is one of our well-known senior staff, with just over 16 years of experience in the industry. He’s a well-versed and talented artist specialising in fineline, oriental, tribal, and realism tattoos, but today we’ll be showcasing some of his recent b&g realism and colour realism. Quite a few are pop-culture themed, but we also have a beautiful Mother Mary tattoo to show off.
This tough little guy is a recreation of the album ‘The Fat of the Land’ by band Prodigy. Look at how those colours come together!

Another music themed tattoo! This black and grey tattoo transforms Pink Floyd’s singer and guitarist Syd Barrett’s iconic fender esquire into an immortal piece of art along the forearm.

This tattoo is actually very similar to a previous katana tattooed by Max, but the details have been altered to resemble the weapon wielded by Uma Thurman in Kill Bill.

Highly detailed angel tattoo on the inn

A classic! Icarus in the realistic minimal style, with some clean, clean script and linework.

This is quite an interesting one! A portrait of Michael Beak as Swan from the 1970s movie The Warriors.

Max has filled in the outer side of the arm of an already-existing tattoo with an incredible, eye-catching negative space tattoo of a tree branch.

Another example of negative space! A beautiful portrait of Mother Mary, framed above by skeletons, and below by a rosary. This client sat so well despite the long, long hours.

Look at those details!
Another classic! Medusa, this representation on the hand with some linework details that extend onto the finger.

Last but not least! Unfortunately we haven’t got a good picture of the full tattoo, but we’ve captured the stunning dragon figurehead to this realistic ship tattoo. Clutching a pearl, face pulled back into a fierce snarl, this is not the ship you’d want to mess with!

That’s all for today! These are only Max’s most recent tattoos, but his full portfolio can be found through the ‘artist’ section on our website. Max’s instagram page @maxloftyink is also kept up-to-date.
