Sundays at the studio tend to swing between overwhelmingly busy and sleepily quiet. This weekend falls somewhere in the middle, neither busy nor empty, and chill all the way through. As so, we’ve had the time to document the progress of two of our artists working on some note-worthy pieces.
Pong is in the process of shading in an arm sleeve, starting from the tip-top of the shoulder. This sleeve depicts a snarling tiger wearing a samurai’s helmet, with a fearsome oni as the headpiece. Rounding off the forearm is a classic hanya, and in the background a mix of hand-drawn and stencilled waves bracket these varying components, all around brining a balance to the artwork.
Below you’ll find a few images from it the bare bones of the outline, to the beginning of shading, and the final details put on before the end of the day.
As for Aaron, today he’s got a friend in the studio and is working on inking out a black and grey tiger-themed back piece in the American traditional style. After stencilling on the head of the tiger, Aaron spent the remainder of the morning carefully drawing out roses and thorns across the upper back of his client. These flowers are custom, perfectly suited to the physique he’s working with. Though they didn’t expect to finish today, this is a strong start if we’ve ever seen one!
If you see something that you like and want to get started on a piece with either Pong or Aaron, you can reach out to us over email, phone, or through the studio’s inquiry form. We’re keen to hear what you have in mind and to start another awesome projects with you!
